The Harlem School of the Arts offers a summer of fun in the arts for children ages 4-12. ARTScape Summer Day Camp is an arts experience like no other. Campers enjoy a variety of classes in 4 different art forms: music, dance, theatre, and visual arts.
Weekly trips to NYC’s cultural destinations and afternoon swimming highlight the three 2-week sessions. Each session culminates with a performance for campers’ families and friends. Join the fun!

We offer six weeks of camp composed of three, 2 week sessions. Each session is $825.00 for a full day and $550.00 for a half day. When you register for a full summer (6 weeks), you pay $2,475 and $1650 for 4 weeks. If you register for all 3 sessions before May 1, the price is discounted 15%.
2. When is the deadline for full payment?
Payment is due in full one week before the first day of camp. So for Session A, full payment is due by June 27th, 2016. For Session B, the last day to pay would be July 11th and for Session C the last day to pay is July 25th.
3. What is the difference between a full day and a half day?
Full day students have classes from 9:00am to noon, and join in our afternoon activities. Afternoon activities include arts-focused trips, swimming, twice a week , and cultural events. Half day students join us in our morning classes and are dismissed after lunch.
4. What classes do the children partake in / What classes are offered?
We offer classes in Music, Dance, Musical Theater, Visual Arts, and Theatre.
5. What is the age range of the camp?
Camp runs for ages 4-12.
6. When does camp start?
Session A: July 5th – July 15th
Session B: July 18th – July 29th
Session C: August 1st – August 12th
7. What are the themes for camp?
Our fun-filled sessions will explore various Cultures and Art forms!
8. Besides classes, what other activities do the children participate in?
We go on six trips during the full session (once a week), swim twice a week, and have in-house visits from various artists, Cultural organizations, as well as hands-on workshops.
9. How long is a typical camp day?
Standard arrival is at 8:30am and the day runs until dismissal at 4:30pm. We have early drop off at 7:30am as well as late pick up until 6:00pm.
Per Session:$110 for Early Drop Off, $165 for Late Pick Up

10. Do the children perform what they’ve learned?
Yes, performances are held every 2 weeks for all age groups. For the 2 and 4-week session option, there will be an ending show at the close of each session. As per the 6-week option, full-session campers will present an intensive body of work culminating their arts training.
11. How many t-shirts do the children receive?
Each child receives two t-shirts per session.
12. May we buy extra t-shirts?
Yes, you may purchase additional T-shirts at $15.00 each. There will be a merchandise table set up every morning and at the end of each day.
13. Is lunch provided for the campers?
We do offer lunch for the campers provided by the NYC DOE on a daily basis. ARTScape is not a nut-free environment. Vegetarian options are available.
14. Do you offer snacks for the campers?
We do provide snack every afternoon, and we ensure that all of our snacks are nut and gluten free.
15. Can my child be in the same group as his/her friend?
Yes, we try our best to accommodate grouping requests; however, this may take up to 48 hours to take effect.
16. How early can we register for camp?
Registration opens February 1, 2016.
17. How many children are in each group?
In each group we have no more than 20 campers and our ratio policies follow those set by the NYC department of health: 1 counselor for every 6 children.
18. Do you offer tours for new families?
Yes, Camp Tours are available starting February 2nd, 2016.
