The Harlem School of the Arts, Inc. is a not for profit, community-based arts school that provides quality arts instruction in four disciplines (music, dance, theatre, and art & design), to young people ages 18 months and adults, in the historic Hamilton Heights section of West Harlem. The ARTScape Camp Director is responsible for overseeing all areas of camp
management in collaboration with the HSA Chief Education and Creative Programs
Officer. These include curriculum planning, budget planning and management, safety
compliance and training, hiring staff, and programming. During the camp, he or she is
responsible for oversight of all camp staff, which may include assessing work
performance and taking disciplinary action when necessary. The dates of the
ARTScape 2020 camp are July 6 – August 14, 2020.
HSA has an immediate need for volunteers to help with:
- Events at the school – ushers, coat checking, bartenders, servers, hall monitors and crowd control helpers
- Community outreach – street fairs and concerts
- General administrative office work (e.g., receptionist, filing, collating, taking attendance for classes, database entry and updating, photocopying, etc.).
