Digital Media Exploration. Spring 2021
In this course, students explore their creativity through digital tools. Students learn how to code and sculpt with Scratch, P5(javascript), and TinkerCAD. Students create their own video games and characters, visual code experiments and drawing tools, and create digital 3D sculptures from their own imaginations to be 3D printed. Using a computer and some basic math concepts, students learn how to unleash their imagination through code and computation to create awesome games like pong and maze games, and to 3D print whatever they can imagine! These skills are not just for creativity, but also to teach students how to use technology for themselves and be more digitally literate in our very digital world.
No experience necessary.
For your student to develop the full range of art & design skills for this age group, it is strongly recommended that this class is taken alongside Animation Fundamentals, Digital Media Exploration and Drawing from Life. To enrich the visual arts’ experience, we also invite students to take vocal, dancing and acting classes in their age group. No prior experience necessary.
