LIVE AUDITION
Calling ALL Singers, Dancers and Actors! Please prepare 1 (one) song from
the Musical Theatre genre to be sung with piano accompaniment. Please
bring sheet music (in the correct key for you) for the pianist. Auditionees may
also be required to do a cold read and a movement assessment.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
The HSA Summer Musical Theatre Intensive (MTI) for students ages 8-12 uses a multidisciplinary,
process-focused approach to train young performers of all levels. The curriculum includes courses in
movement, acting, vocal technique, ensemble, and repertory. In addition to classes, an exciting lineup of
industry professionals will lead insightful workshops and masterclasses. The intensive culminates with a
performance of The Wiz Jr. open to the public.

ABOUT HSA MUSICAL THEATRE
HSA Musical Theatre introduces the fundamentals of musical theatre to young actors. Pitch recognition,
breathing techniques, vocal projection, storytelling and teamwork are the main focus as this program
explores the importance of ensemble performance through show tunes. Theatrical movement and
choreography are also introduced. HSA’s Musical Theatre courses allow students to develop confidence,
coordination and integral skills required for success in this field and learn how to prepare themselves for the
varied demands of a musical theatre career.
