Harlem Summer Arts
Harlem School of the Arts offers a summer of fun in the arts for children ages 4-12. ARTScape Summer Day Camp is an arts experience like no other. Campers enjoy a variety of classes in 4 different art forms: music, dance, theatre, and art & design.
Weekly trips to NYC’s cultural destinations and afternoon swimming highlight the three 2-week sessions. Lunch is included. Each session culminates with a performance for campers’ families and friends. Join the fun!
Summer Dance Experience
Harlem Summer Dance Experience is a ballet based, multidisciplinary experience for students with at least three years of consistent training. Ballet and Contemporary Modern Ballet classes will be a part of the daily curriculum. Pointe classes will also be offered. Three years of ballet training is recommended. To complement the ballet focus, the intensive will also offer contemporary, Hip-Hop and African classes. In celebration of a new partnership with the Radio City Rockettes, we will present weekly precision technique classes led by a Rockette. The intensive will feature guest artist workshops from superstars of the industry. Open rehearsals for an invited audience will be presented on Fridays and original work will be created on participants. The intensive will culminate in HSA Dance’s annual, Summer Blaze performance. We are still registering and accepting photos for assessment and acceptance into the program.
This year students can send 2 minute videos of themselves dancing in the forms of Ballet, Modern, or Contemporary. In the video they should also include their name, age, along with themselves standing in 1st arabesque and tendu a la seconde.
Please send videos to: firstname.lastname@example.org
There is not a deadline for video submissions.
