Harlem Summer Arts Experience | July 5 – August 12, 2022
Harlem School of the Arts is pleased to present a six-week interdisciplinary arts camp that celebrates the rich history and culture of Harlem. In three 2-week sessions from July 5 – August 12, 2022, children ages 5-12 will have the opportunity to sing, dance, act, and design all while immersing themselves in the creative history of Harlem’s most prominent cultural districts. Through top-level instruction, students will develop key skills in the visual and performing arts as well as enhanced knowledge of Harlem’s culture and community. The 2022 Harlem Summer Arts Experience includes special guest artists, mentoring, outdoor fun and special trips, and opportunities for students to present their creative work after each session. Harlem School of the Arts invites actors ages 12-19 to this three-week theater training intensive designed to deepen and develop their performance and audition technique through rigorous immersion in voice, movement, acting, text analysis, character research, and advanced on camera technique. Led by HSA Teaching Artist Kevis Hillocks, Olander Wilson, and HSA Theater Department Chair Chesney Snow, this summer program provides the opportunity for students to display their training for an audience of agents,managers, and casting directors in a final performance showcase. Capacity limited to 15 students.

Harlem Summer Dance Intensive | August 8 – August 26, 2022

Harlem School of the Arts is excited to welcome dancers ages 8-25 for our fourth annual Summer Dance Intensive! From August 8 – 26, 2022 the Summer Dance Intensive offers a ballet-based, multidisciplinary experience for students with at least three years of consistent dance training. Students will receive instruction in Ballet, Pointe, Contemporary, African, Hip-Hop, and Lindy Hop and will feature guest artist workshops from industry superstars including Caitlin Abraham, Ashley Mayeaux, Christopher Jackson, and Kelly Marsh. The intensive will culminate in the HSA Dance Annual Summer Blaze performance.
