HSA 60th Anniversary Gala

HSA 60th Anniversary Gala

The Harlem School of the Arts, 60th-anniversary gala, fondly called the Harlem Bridgerton Ball, celebrated our founder, Dorothy Maynor. Guests were transported into the world of Bridgerton as HSA students transformed the event space into a charming Bridgerton-inspired dinner theater. We had the honor of recognizing Nicole A. Avant, author and former Ambassador to the Bahamas, and her parents, Jacqueline and Clarence Avant (posthumously), as well as Deborah Roberts, Al Roker, and their son Nick, Jennifer Jones Austin, and HSA stalwart supporter, The Herb Alpert Foundation, for their impactful contributions.

The gala was both a celebration and a vital fundraiser, raising over two million dollars to support our multidisciplinary arts programs and HSA’s mission to remove all barriers to entry, including tuition. Every donation is a commitment to keeping arts education alive and creating opportunities for future generations of artists. Thank you to all our attendees, staff, and students for making it an unforgettable evening!
