2026 Summer Dance Intensive
About The Program
The HSA Dance Summer Intensive is a ballet and modern based training program for students with at least two years of consistent training. Ballet classes will be a part of the daily curriculum and pointe classes will also be offered. To complement the ballet focus, the intensive will also offer contemporary, Horton Technique, Jazz, Lindy Hop and Hip-Hop. Additionally, in celebration of our partnership with the Radio City Rockettes, we will present weekly precision technique classes led by a member of the Radio City Rockettes. The intensive will end with our Summer Blaze concert on August 21st at 5:30pm. This experience is designed to grow the technique of intermediate and advanced dancers. The intensive is about love, life, and dance!
This year students who do not train in the HSA Dance program can send 2 minute videos of themselves dancing in the forms of Ballet, Modern, or Contemporary. In the video they should also include their name, age, along with themselves standing in 1st arabesque and tendu à la seconde.

The deadline for video submissions is Friday July 10th, 2026.
BALLET
– Girls: Black camisole leotard, Flesh toned tights, flesh color slippers, hair in a bun.
– Boys: Black leotard, Black tights, flesh colored slippers
– PLEASE NOTE: For ages 11+. For dancers on pointe. Dancers who haven’t had pointe training should contact the director before the intensive. Pointe shoes must be flesh-toned.
CONTEMPORARY
– Girls: Black camisole leotard, Flesh toned tights, flesh color slippers or, hair in a bun
– Boys: Black leotard, Black tights, flesh color slippers.
HIP-HOP
– Black joggers, leggings, sweats, HSA tee shirt or plain black tee shirt, sneakers (no Converse)
PRECISION TECHNIQUE
– Girls: Black leotard, Flesh toned tights, and Flesh toned Character Shoes (PLEASE NOTE: Character Shoes For Girls 13+ / Black Jazz shoes are the other option for girls under 13)
– Boys: Black leotard, Black tights, and Black Jazz Shoes
AFRO-CARIBBEAN FUSION
– Girls: Black leotard, Flesh toned tights, and Barefoot
– Boys: Black leotard, Black tights, and Barefoot
MODERN/HORTON
– Girls: Black leotard, Flesh toned tights, and Barefoot
– Boys: Black leotard, Black tights, and Barefoot
JAZZ
– Girls: Black leotard, Flesh toned tights, and black Jazz shoes
– Boys: Black leotard, Black tights, and black Jazz shoes
