      DanceHSA Dance immerses students in studying a rich tapestry of ballet, contemporary, jazz, tap, hip hop, and African dance disciplines. Dance students participate in master workshops, performances, and events.

      Media & DesignHSA’s Media & Design program is rooted in the elemental principles of drawing, painting, illustration, digital media, animation, and cinematography. Students learn how to produce comic books, cartoon animations, and short films.

      TheatreAt HSA’s Theatre Program, your child will discover the joy of bringing stories to life, whether on stage or in front of the camera. Our students learn how to create compelling characters, speak clearly and confidently, and express emotions authentically. Through supportive performances and individual coaching, young performers develop the self-assurance they need to shine.
    • Pre-Prep Program
      Pre-Prep ProgramHSA Pre-Prep students ages 10 to 12 receive advanced arts instruction in music, dance, theater, and visual arts through the extremely selective HSA Prep pre-professional scholarship program. Students who are admitted are fully funded and receive individual mentoring, study hall sessions, assistance with college applications, and opportunities to interact with top-tier professional artists.

      Prepatory ProgramHSA Prep is a highly selective, pre-professional scholarship program providing students ages 12–18 with advanced level arts training in music, dance, theatre and the visual arts. Students receive a full scholarship to attend HSA, individual mentoring, study hall access, college application support, and opportunities to engage with high caliber professional artists.

      HSA Summer ProgramsOur Harlem Summer Arts Experience is dynamic and perfect for children ages 5-12 years old. The program consists of learning new concepts, exploration of artistic disciplines, field trips, and community building. Camp attendance is flexible and may be attended in consecutive sessions or as needed.

In digital painting, students learn how to use Photoshop and other cutting-edge visual arts software in our industry-standard media labs. Whether it’s begun traditionally and finished digitally or built from scratch digitally we cover all the bases.

      Advanced Technical & Visual ArtsCore skill building is foundational to all artists be they beginners or masters. Adv Tech offers specialized training in visual arts for students seeking to refine their craft.

      MuralsThe mural painting program teaches kids the fundamentals of mural design and painting, fostering creativity, teamwork, and community engagement. Participants collaborate with local organizations to create vibrant, meaningful murals that reflect shared stories and inspire their communities.

      AnimationHSA’s Animation Program introduces students to the art of storytelling with both digital and hand-drawn animation. Students are taught the fundamentals of animation from simple character designs and walk cycles, to fully animated shorts.
    • Cinematography
      CinematographyOur Cinematography program introduces students to the art of visual storytelling through the lens of a camera. From storyboarding, composition, and lighting to editing and production techniques, students gain hands-on experience in bringing their creative visions to life on the screen.
    • Comic Book Art
      Comic Book ArtIntroduce students to the dynamic world of sequential art. Students create original characters, narratives, and artwork. From concept to finished comic, students develop their artistic voice while honing skills in drawing, composition, and creativity in this special art of storytelling.
