– We now offer both semester-long and full-year classes, giving families greater flexibility and more variety when selecting programs.
– Full-year commitments are now optional, allowing students to choose the schedule that best fits their interests and availability.
– With shorter session options available, families can also benefit from more accessible pricing and greater flexibility for their budgets.
Students can now choose their own learning path at HSA.
– General enrollment classes allow students to explore their creativity with classes that range from beginner level to advanced, and our new Preparatory Track classes are designed as more rigorous and disciplined learning environments, with elevated expectations and training standards.
– Preparatory Track classes are intended to help students develop the skills and foundation necessary to pursue admission into our Preparatory Program, our highly selective merit-based scholarship program.
– PLEASE NOTE that enrollment in Preparatory Track classes DOES NOT guarantee eligibility to the Preparatory Program. Admission into the Preparatory Program itself requires an audition and approval by our department directors.
– Classes are now organized by Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced skill levels for easier navigation.
– Class descriptions now include information about the level of commitment, focus, and discipline expected for each course.
– Additional notes under each class outline any prerequisites or recommended supplemental classes to help families make informed decisions.
A School of the Arts That Everyone Can Afford
To apply for financial aid, parents must first register for classes. Once that’s done, create an account with FACTS, our financial aid platform. From there you can fill out the necessary income information, upload W2 forms, and the prior year’s tax information.
Once applications are submitted, and all required documents are received by FACTS from families, a business review will be conducted. This takes approximately 2-3 weeks to complete.
Applicants also receive an award letter through FACTS that they must sign and return electronically (to financialaid@hsanyc.org) or in person at HSA. Awards are income-based, and if an applicant is eligible for financial assistance, the applicant will receive an award amount via FACTS management for the designated year for which the financial aid should be applied. Once the signed award letter has been received, applicants are instructed to register for the classes on a payment plan.

Our experienced department directors work personally with each student to evaluate their current skills and interests. This helps us place your child in the perfect class where they’ll feel both challenged and confident as they grow their artistic abilities.
