HSA’s 60th Anniversary!

 

Summer Camp FAQ’s:

Dates: July 10 – August 18, 2023

 
Where will camp be held?
Harlem School of the Arts; in various classrooms and studios and outdoors in the Courtyard. Local field trips to St. Nicholas Park and various museums and key cultural sites in NYC will be taken as well – locations still TBD.
 
What are camp hours?
Camp will run from 8am-4pm each day
 
What dates will camp be closed (holidays)?
None (camp begins past the July 4th holiday and no other holidays occur throughout the remainder of July and in August).
 
Will lunch be provided?
Yes, lunch will be provided every day to students.
 
Can my child bring their own lunch?
Yes, your child can bring their own lunch. Please be mindful of the items your child has for lunch, as other students may have severe allergies.
 
Will students with food allergies be separated from others during lunch?
Yes, students who have food allergies will be assigned to the allergy table during lunch. They will not sit amongst the other students during lunch.
 
What documentation will be required before camp starts?
– Signed medical forms from pediatrician (Physical)
– Student code of conduct
– Terms & Agreement
– Late pick-up purchase( if applicable)
– Early Drop-off purchase (if applicable)**
 
What should my child bring each day?
All campers must wear their camp t-shirt every day, along with their drawstring backpack that should include their art supplies, extra mask, and reusable water bottle.
 
What are the procedures for early or late pick up and drop off?
All students should be dropped off no later than 9am. You are able to pick your child up early, but please call the school first and let us know that you are coming to pick up your child before the normal dismissal time. If you are running late to drop off or pick up your child, please call the HSA front desk at (212) 926-4100.
 
Can I send my child home with a friend or another camper?
We will only be able to send your child home with who you have listed on your pick up list. Please make sure to notify us, if anything changes.
 
Are there any discounts or financial aid available?
$100 off each session (now through March 19)
10% off automatically when siblings register (now through June 3)
20% off for Harlem Academy students (now through June 3 – contact info@hsanyc.org for information on the process)
The Package discount will activate when 3 camp sessions appear on an invoice for 14%
 
Who do I contact if I have a registration or a billing question?

What happens if my child becomes injured or sick at camp?
If a child becomes sick or injured during camp, they will immediately be seen by our health director, who will provide immediate health care and contact the parent or guardian of that child for pick up. Severe injuries will warrant calling 911.
