Kenan Scholars Artistic Collective
This free program is a year-long after-school program designed for 50 high school students aged 14 to 18 years old who have a strong passion for art, culture, academics, and mental health. Apply for the Kenan Scholars Artist Collective and explore arts classes and workshops, participate in studio sessions and master classes with working artists, go on field trips to visit galleries, museums and artist studios, get academic support and career planning assistance. All students will do live performances and exhibit their work throughout the year.
Uptown Sound Experiment
The Uptown Sound Experiment at the Harlem School of the Arts is a musical performance ensemble where young musicians aged 14–18 from across New York City come together to explore, create, and perform. Through collaboration with other NYC teens and experienced musical mentors, the Uptown Sound Experiment serves as the house band for HSA concerts and performs at various venues across NYC. Introducing the Harlem School of the Arts Keenan Scholars Program – an exclusive tuition free scholarship program designed to empower and uplift teen boys through the art of dance. From ballet to hip hop, tap to the horton technique, acro to afro caribbean, this program offers a diverse range of training styles to help you explore and excel in your dance journey. Our expert instructors will guide you every step of the way, providing top-notch training and mentorship to help you reach your fullest potential.
