This year’s HSA Dance Summer Intensive is a ballet and modern based experience for students with at least three years of consistent training. Ballet classes will be a part of the daily curriculum. Three years of ballet training is recommended. To complement the ballet focus, the intensive will also offer contemporary, Jazz, Horton Technique, Improvisation, Street Jazz, Hip-Hop, Lindy Hop and more. In celebration of our partnership with the Radio City Rockettes, we will present weekly precision technique classes led by members of the Radio City Rockettes. The intensive will end with our Summer Blaze concert on August 25th at 5:30p. This experience is designed to grow the technique of intermediate and advanced dancers. The intensive is about love, life, and dance!
This year students who do not train in the HSA Dance program can send 2 minute videos of themselves dancing in the forms of Ballet, Modern, or Contemporary. In the video they should also include their name, age, along with themselves standing in 1st arabesque and tendu à la seconde.
Please send videos to Leyland Simmons at firstname.lastname@example.org. Deadline for video submissions is Friday July 21st.
